Nicole Scherzinger has been making the most of her stay in the Big Apple and is making sure she has lots of selfies to remember herself by.

The former Pussycat Doll  was snapped taking photos of herself with some iconic backdrops on Friday.

In one, the 36-year-old checked the selfie she had snapped on her phone as she paused in front of a snack shack in Central Park.

The singer and former girlfriend of F1 champion Lewis Hamilton was in New York to help host last Thursday's NBC Red Nose special.

And while she's in town, the Hawaiian-born star is making sure to find time to do some sightseeing.

Central Park is one of the big tourist draws covering, as it does, a vast swathe of Manhattan in green and featuring a famous boating lake as well as miles of walking and jogging paths. 

Nicole also made sure to pose in front some of the larger-than-life statures and monuments that are dotted around Central Park.

Other landmarks on her sightseeing tour included the Empire State Building.

She posted a photo of herself on the outdoor viewing area at the top of the Empire State building with one hand int he air and a caption that said 'I heart NYC!!!'

During an interview with HuffPost Live on Friday, Nicole opened up about working with pop mogul and 'Mr Nasty' Simon Cowell on X Factor UK. 

She said: '[Simon] knew how to push my buttons, he always did, but it was kind of insulting what he was doing. He was categorizing me and stereotyping me. It really upset me and, I don’t know, the beast came out of me,

'He just pissed me off then, and I just had to put him in his place and teach him and educate him. You have to do that sometimes with people, educate people.'

The singer is starring in a new NBC summer series called I Can Do That.

The show billed as a one-hour comedy variety series, she is one of six celebrities who will attempt to learn a new skill each week and showcase it in front of a live audience.

Joining Nicole on the series are dancer and choreographer Cheryl Burke, recording artists Ciara and Joe Jonas, stand-up comedian Jeff Dye and actor Alan Ritchson.

The series hosted by Marlon Wayans premieres on Tuesday May 26.

As a Victoria's Secret model, Shanina Shaik knows what it takes to be an Angel.

But somehow the 24-year-old managed to outdo even herself when she was spotted out in New York wearing a white dress in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Australian, who is one of the most sought-after faces in her profession, was spotted leaving Manhattan's Up & Down club donning the flatteringly skimpy attire.

Thanks to her desirable svelte and curvy figure, the tiny number was an excellent choice for the dark-haired beauty who sauntered around the streets of the Big Apple with ease.

The runway star allowed her natural beauty to shine through by opting to wear minimal accessories and keeping her make-up natural.

However, despite standing at 5ft9, the stunner still slipped into a pair of inch-adding heels for the evening out, adding further height to her leggy frame. 

And the catwalk sensation wasn't alone either when she exited the trendy hotspot located in the West Village. 

Instead Shanina held hands with a mystery man, who matched her ensemble wearing a white t-shirt. 

The muscular man, whose identity is unknown, acted as the perfect gentleman by opening the car door for Shanina and making sure she got into the vehicle safely.

Earlier this week, Shanina praised her mum with a heartfelt post on Mother's Day.

She wrote: 'Happy Mothers Day MUM.

'Thank you for always being there for Shahboy & I. Through thick or thin I know I can always count on you. Your love and support makes me a better woman each day.

'You're the best and I love you..... Nina xo'.

The message, which was shared with Shanina's 451,000 Instagram followers, was accompanied by a picture of the model with her mum.
